IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT?

We don’t have a set age limit because it depends on the child’s capability (or adult). Generally we say from 2yo and up, but we have had younger children on board who have enjoyed their ride. Some children find the height quite intimidating so having an adult accompany them is a good idea. Children from 2-4 years must be accompanied by an adult.

Our Friendly Riding Camels…

All our camels have been trained and are handled using our Camel Connection Trust Based Camel Training® method. Contrary to popular belief, camels are very sensitive creatures and require quite, calm and gentle handling. Many of our camels have been with us for over 10 years and we mutually treat each other like good friends which makes for a great working relationship.

“Jack”

Jack is our leading camel not only for our beach riding operation, but also for our outback camel treks. We trust Jack with our lives! He is the first to let us know if something isn’t right and he takes care of all the camels like family. Jack is one of the most patient and kindest camels we’ve ever met – we’re proud to have him part of our camel family.

“Coco”

Coco takes his role as a riding camel very seriously, so much so that you can almost see the concentration expressed through his face. Coco doesn’t thrive off being centre of attention, but would much rather do his ‘duty’ with upmost care as this is where his satisfaction lies.

“Taggles”

Taggles adores human contact and is known to ‘walk like an Egyptian’. His proud stance can seem a bit intimidating at first, but once you get to know him he is just a big puppy dog that will happily lay his head in your lap.

“Euco”

Euco is the “Prad Pitt” of the camel world – he is bit of a ‘lady’s man’ and adores lots of cuddles, in fact we believe that cuddles are just important to Euco as food.

Lakes Entrance Camel Rides Owners/Operators

Tara Lea Russell Osborne camel trainers
Russell Osborne & Tara Lea – Passionate Owners & Operators

We’re extremely passionate cameleers (camel handlers) who adore camel kisses and long camel treks.

We love sharing our magnificent camels through our adventure camel treks, beach rides, camel hire and our camel training programs and online information. We’re also here to serve and mentor all camel owners or those thinking about being one.

Our family business is based in East Gippsland, Victoria, Australia, a beautiful part of the world in our opinion. We travel to and fro to here and there in Australia and worldwide doing camel treks, camel training courses & speaking at events. You’ll often see our kids tag along with us on most camel outings.

You can read more about us here, what we stand for and how we got into camels in the first place.
